| 3. When I opened the package, some loose carbon fell out. Is that normal? |
Yes. The patented fiberweb technology used in manufacturing Aqua Purfect filters displaces the carbon evenly throughout the grey fiberweb.
When the filters are cut to the finished size, some carbon may fall out. This will not affect the performance of the filter, and is not harmful to people. Simply dispose of the loose carbon in the trash. |

 |
| 4. Do I need to use the bio-wheel portion of my filter system? |
No. The reason traditional filter systems recommend a biological filtration step is to remove harmful ammonia from the water.
The patented surface-treated activated carbon used in Aqua Purfect filters removes harmful ammonia from the water more effectively than any other filter product, eliminating the need for a secondary biological filtration step. |

 |
| 9. The carbon used by Aqua Purfect looks different than traditional aquarium carbon. Why? |
The patented surface-treated activated carbon used by Aqua Purfect is smaller and finer than traditional aquarium carbon.
The surface-treatment process hardens the individual carbon molecules, allowing for a stronger, harder, more effective product. This also helps minimize and breakdown of the carbon during normal "tumbling" in an aquarium. |
